Description		The danger isn't on the surface. It’s underneath. What began as a routine mission to survey intense seismic activity on the planet Iocarro rapidly spirals into a nightmare. Without warning, a massive, cataclysmic earthquake rips across the plains, tearing the landscape apart and swallowing the Enterprise Away Team whole. Cut off from the ship and buried deep beneath kilometers of rock, the missing crew members are presumed dead by the orbiters above. But the nightmare is only beginning. Deep within the planet's crust, the battered survivors discover a shocking secret: a sprawling, highly industrialized subterranean civilization. Isolated from the cosmos, this subterranean society is relentlessly mining the planet’s core—unwittingly triggering the very tremors that threaten to collapse their underground world and crush everyone within it. As the Enterprise launches a desperate race against time to punch through the interference and locate their people, the stranded Away Team must navigate a completely alien society. To survive, they have to convince a stubborn civilization to halt their entire way of life—before the next big tremor buries the truth, and the crew, forever.

Mission Summary

What was meant to be a routine survey for Benamite crystals in the Iocarro system nearly ended in total disaster and a catastrophic temporal paradox. Sensor interference beneath the planet's volatile crust forced an away team—led by Commander zh'Roothi and including Lieutenant Commander Datari, Counselor Laurell, and Vorta Administrator Kuzos—to descend via shuttle. A sudden seismic event swallowed the vessel, severing communications and displacing the team three centuries into Iocarro's past, just days before a planetary extinction event destroyed the native civilization.

Trapped in the past, the away team earned the trust of the Iocarran leadership by working under extreme environmental heat to stabilize their failing geothermal core. Back on the Enterprise, tensions ran high over the Temporal Prime Directive, leading to a sharp clash with Commander Bernadotte before she succumbed to acute temporal sickness. With the geothermal grid on the verge of total collapse, Transporter Operator Akaathaan Saarnosh executed a brilliant, highly dangerous transport through the chroniton field, pulling the team back aboard just as their window closed.

The away team is currently in Sickbay recovering from severe burns and chroniton shock, but their actions have fundamentally altered history. Our post-rescue scans confirm that the extinction event was averted, leaving an intact, thriving, pre-warp civilization on Iocarro today. I have ordered all contact minimized to prevent further contamination, and we are withdrawing at Warp 6 to await debriefing by the Department of Temporal Investigations. Once again, we leave an altered quadrant behind us, bearing the quiet burden of the choices made to bring our people home.
