History
| Personal History | Amber was born in 2411 aboard the USS Surak, her father's ship. Her mother's pregnancy was a constantly monitored one thanks to Amber inheriting the green copper based blood of her Vulcan heritage. Growing up aboard a ship that travelled to so many different worlds Amber was fascinated with the idea of travelling the universe, to see what was truly out there. The fact that her empathic and telepathic abilities manifested at an early age made that dream seem somewhat impossible, instead she travelled to Betazed to stay with family where she could properly learn control. Growing up on Betazed she decided to enrol at Betazed university, having had help from Counsellor's herself she wanted to be able to help others just as they had helped her. She studied hard, throwing herself into her work which paid off, two years later she graduated with honours. Deciding she wanted to be a Starfleet Officer Amber asked her father to sponsor her application for Starfleet Academy. His only misgiving was that she had decided not to purge her emotions, something that they still disagree on. Amber proved herself to be a dedicated student at the Academy, her main focus was on Psychological and medical, but she also excelled in Operations Management, alongside other studies. She graduated 4 years later with honours in all her studies. Amber's first assignment was a year's internship at Starfleet Medical, it proved a true eye opener on just how hard Counsellor's worked. She found the workload tiring, but well worth it enjoying helping others. Spending most of her time with patients Amber almost missed out on romance altogether, until she fell head over heels (literally!) whilst on shoreleave. What could have been a nasty accident was fortunately not thanks to the man who caught her as she was knocked off her feet and into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Fortunately her knight in shining armour Kurt Phillips soon became the love of her life, but their happiness wasn't to last as he was killed whilst on a rescue mission. Amber has since thrown herself back into her work not bothering to find herself anyone else, a classic case of being afraid of losing anyone else (though she wouldn't admit to it if you asked) After years of service she has now been offered the position of her dreams, aboard the USS Enterprise, which she has happily accepted. |
