Highly intelligent, she unfortunately tends to be easily distracted, although she has been trying to ameliorate this issue. Despite the tragic loss of her mother at a very young age, she generally has a positive outlook on life, always focussing on making things better for everyone around her, often at the detriment of her own wellbeing. |
History
| Personal History | Sayori Nakai was born in Osaka, Japan, Earth, to Aoi Hanada, a waitress in the popular teahouse "Shanghai". When she was four years old, her mother was killed in a shuttle crash, and Sayori herself was badly injured, losing her left eye in the accident. She was subsequently adopted and raised by her biological mother's employer and friend, Shizune Nakai, who had served with I.R.W. Ourainavassa during the evacuation of Romulus alongside her mirror universe counterpart, who became Sayori's favourite "aunt" and continues to influence her sense of style, as well as teaching her advanced self-defense skills. During her early education, Sayori's affinity for the sciences became clear, and this was helped by tutoring from another of her mother's friends from Ourainavassa, Mila Lynn. She completed her schooling several years early, and decided to join Starfleet Academy at the age of only 16, once again excelling at her studies. Following her graduation, she was assigned to Enterprise, where she had already completed her Cadet cruise, as a junior science officer with the rank of Ensign. |
