Captain's Log, Commodore Wilkan Targaryen Recording:

The Enterprise's Astrometrics Department has detected a subspace shockwave deep within Dominion territory. I've ordered Enterprise to investigate.

Lieutenant Anzai Sulu wasn't thrilled with her appointment to the Enterprise these days. Not only had she been assigned to the Night Watch at the last minute this evening, but she had only recently found out that the Commodore had overlooked her for the Chief Science Officer position. At least a subspace shockwave had been detected to help keep her busy, so long as the Commodore didn't take that off of her either.

"An update please," Commodore Targaryen directed from his chair in the center of the Bridge.

"On course, Sir, with an estimated arrival in twelve minutes," Galatea explained as she stood next to the Captain's Chair. The hologram didn't look all that pleased as she had a sour expression and crossed arms. Then again that was pretty much how she always looked.

Sulu knew that the Commodore would want to know more from her this time, so she checked her own readings. The subspace shockwave had originated at bearing 47 mark 325. The computer was having trouble probing the devastation because of the subspace instability, but they were starting to get clearer information. Typing on her panel she was finally able to report a source. Turning away from the computer monitor, "Captain, I have the location information you requested. Drai, Sir, the origin of the shockwave is Drai."

"Surely coincidence that we just had a run in with them," Wilkan said with a sigh. "Open a channel, all frequencies." The Enterprise's Commanding Officer rose from his chair and walked toward the viewscreen, "This is Enterprise, flagship of the Federation. We have tracked a subspace shockwave emanating from the Drai homeworld. Do you require assistance?"

An alarm rang on the Science Station. Sulu couldn't believe what her eyes were showing her, "Captain!"

Wilkan turned, "Yes?"

"Sensor feeds are able to give us a long-range visual of the Drai homeworld. My God! Sir, the planet's undergone major seismic and atmospheric instability. If I didn't know any better I'd say that a matter/antimatter bomb went off in their atmosphere, or a ship crashed while traveling at warp." The Science Officer explained while typing away on the wall mounted portion of the console.

"Sir," Ensign Taasah interrupted from Ops, "We're being hailed."

Still standing in the center of the Enterprise Bridge, Commodore Targaryen turned toward the viewscreen, "Let's see it."

The viewscreen switched from the view of the devastated Drai homeworld to the symbol of the Dominion. Wilkan took the opportunity to take a breath because he had the distinct impression he wasn't going to like what happened next. His fears were confirmed when Weyoun appeared on the screen. The Vorta's face rose and a broad smile was soon plastered all over the porcelain white face. "Commodore, how wonderful to see you again."

"Nice to see you again too, Weyoun, but I wish it were under better circumstances," the Commodore explained without moving from the center of the Bridge. "We've become aware of the incident involving the Drai and we'd like the help."

"The Dominion appreciates your willingness to assist with the incident on Drai; however, everything is under control. We have no need for your assistance at this time," the Vorta explained with fake sincerity that was so thick it ran the risk of smothering them all. "We've established a quarantine zone around the Drai system, for their own safety and security. We ask you to remain outside."

An alarm beeped on the Tactical console. Ensign sh'Kovrirr looked up from the horseshoe shaped workstation, "Commodore, three Dominion vessels have altered course and are on approach."

The Commodore looked at the Andorian, "Are they taking provocative action?"

"Not that our sensors can detect, Sir, but I wouldn't doubt that they're sending us a message," the Ensign reported.

"Only one that we take the safety of the Drai seriously," Weyoun interrupted. "We invite you to withdraw."

The El-Aurian sighed, "Administrator, I understand the delicate nature of what happened, I genuinely do, but we are only here to help. There's no reason to risk the integrity of a treaty that is so fresh the ink isn't dry. If the Federation is going to prove itself as a friend to the Dominion, we need to be allowed..."

"Commodore," Weyoun interrupted, "as I've said we appreciate your generous offer, but now is not the time for the Federation to force their way into our affairs. While the damage the Tosk caused is severe, it is an internal matter of the Dominion. Please, return to your original course and vacate this area immediately. Weyoun out." The screen went dark and was replaced by the image of stars streaking passed the Enterprise and the Dominion vessels approaching.

Standing near the Helm, Wilkan stared at the approaching vessels on the viewscreen and wondered if they should try to run the approaching blockade. Deep down, the Enterprise's Commanding Officer felt responsible for what had happened with the Drai after having learned that a Tosk had been responsible for the devastation wrought on their homeworld. He wanted to help, but he knew that it would do more harm than good.

"Sir," the Andorian at Tactical interjected, "sensors show that the Dominion ships weapons are still unpowered, but they're nearing weapon's range."

"We're in over our heads," Commodore Targaryen grumbled. "Helm, take us away from the quarantine zone. Heading and speed at your discretion."

At the Flight Controls, a Bajoran Ensign nodded and carried out his orders. The Enterprise quickly altered her course in a wide arc, essentially going back the way that it had originally come.

Approaching the Science Station, "Lieutenant Sulu, I'm going to report what's happened to the Admiral. Please keep an eye on the Drai Homeworld for me. Should we need to intervene please let me know."

"Aye Sir," the Astrometrics Officer acknowledged.

"I'll be in my ready room," he retreated to the starboard door. Standing just inside the Bridge he looked at Sulu again, "You have the Bridge, Lieutenant."

Anzai nodded as she monitored her station, "Aye."
