Mission: Exodus
Location: Tellarite Embassy
Timeline: 2430-01-10, 07:00

Ambassador Tovaa Cofrar sat comfortably reading the news headlines on her portable computer. Councilor Caxl had certainly made an impression earlier, having been a guest on Illuminating the City of Light the night previous and making the intentions of the Delegation of Twenty quite well known. If they continued a pursuit of peace with the Dominion, the 20 would leave the Federation before the ink dried.

She slammed the lid of her computer shut, momentarily wondering if she'd broken it in the process. At least it stopped her from breaking that traitorous Benzite. There was a time she had liked the Councilor, there was a time she considered him a friend. It was amazing how quickly things could change.

Looking up though she saw a familiar face, "Mis?"

"Yes," the other woman said looking around until she saw the person who had spoken. It was not a name that many people used, something that she had offered to friends instead of the mouthful name Nokomis or the nickname that only Logan used which was Missy. She self consciously rubbed her belly. She wasn't too big not yet, but noticeably pregnant nonetheless.

"Good to see you, my friend," the Tellarite Ambassador greeted. "It has been a while hasn't it? I'm glad to see you back in the Federation sphere with Krios having joined us."

"Oh it wasn't that hard. Krios was very interested in what the Federation could offer it. And thanks . . . . it has been a while" Feeling suddenly a bit shy for some reason. She pressed through it. "So I've been told that I have an assignment. I was also offered leave due to my condition, which I thought ridiculous so here I am."

The Ambassador nodded, "I appreciate your willingness to push through. We do have a rather secretive mission that we have to solve and, being former Starfleet, you are ideal for." She pushed a PADD forward on the table, "We have an emergency. 20 Federation worlds are threatening secession."

"Good lord, why?" Nokomis frowned. She knew there was a certain amount of finesse with making sure all of the worlds were happy in the Federation but 20 of them threatening to leave at once was unprecedented.

"The President is on a diplomatic mission to the Dominion. They have proposed an alliance with our government. Nonetheless, truth be told, these 20 worlds are opposed to it." Tovaa sighed at her statement, pausing a moment before continuing, "Their efforts are an exercise in extremism, but this would have a destabilizing effect upon the entire Federation."

That rated a high arch of her brows. "Well that would do it yes." She pondered for a moment. "And you want my help to convince them to calm down?" It wasn't the expression she might have otherwise used and she did understand their predicament. She didn't exactly like the idea of the Dominion either but things changed. The Klingons were once the enemy, just as the Romulans were and times changed so that they were no longer.

"We do. The Federation is at a precarious precipice and we need strong voices especially now. Krios may be one of the new kids on the block, but all hold a certain sway. With your experience in Starfleet that comes as an additional assurance for many of us," the Ambassador picked up her cup of tea and took a sip. "We'd like you to meet with the instigator, Councilor Caxl of Benzar."

"Alright," Nokomis nodded. "I'll do it." She liked a challenge and could play devil's advocate on occasion. Besides, the last thing this universe needed was more war. It and it's peoples of various worlds had suffered far too much already. "I can start immediately."

She slid a positronic chip over to the Kriosian, "Here is everything that you will need. We've arranged for you to have a meeting with the exaulted Councilor this evening. Try not to be too annoyed by him," she laughed.

"Nah, the trick is to be as annoyed as you like, you just can't show it." She gave her a small smile. "It was good to see you Tovaa. Thanks ... for this." She held up the chip and gathered herself up to leave the room again.

The Tellarite smiled, "Just happy you are available... just don't push yourself too hard."

"Oh I'm fine." Nokomis dismissed the sentiment with a wave of her hand as she left.

"I hope so," Tovaa said as she watched the other walk away.
