Zoey was happy to see Patton walking in. So they had a couple of minutes to chat, before he had to go back to the bridge. He was going to pick up a report from strategic operations. Given the fact how crafty the Romulan people were, they did not want ship placements data to be shared over subspace airways, so close to Ni'Var. "How do you think the meeting is going?" Zoey asked, as she looked over to Patton, her boyfriend. She really did not like talking about Jasmine, but she knew that Jasmine was in a meeting with Sakkath on the planet. She was curious, what Patton thought or felt.
“I am hoping it is going well,” Patton said in reply. “Not having anything bad or pressing come back I am hoping is a good sign.” He smiled at her. “How are you doing?”
"I hope so, I hope she is up to the task. A big task, to be handed." Zoey said, feeling a little concerned. She was concerned for the safety of the ship, but more importantly for him. He was now chief of security. And if any fighting broke out, he would be in the middle of it. She hated that thought, but it was the profession he choose.
“It is very important,” Patton agreed. “She has the determination and self confidence for it.” He smiled at her. “ I am relieved I wasn’t stuck with her.”
"In the pod?" Zoey asked, making sure she understood what he was saying, when he said stuck with her. She assumed it was about the pod. Well, she hoped it was. If not, there would be follow up questions.
“In the pod or anywhere else,” Patton replied. “I can deal with her if I have to but I would rather not at all.”
"She is still on this ship, so that anywhere else is not as massive as you might hope it would be." Zoey pointed out to him.
“You are right,” Patton agreed. “I know I have to deal with her, my plan is for it to be as little as possible. There will always be crew that do not like each other.”
"Maybe down the road, we can like her. Not today, but maybe down the road." Zoey suggested to Patton. They could not always hate her. It would not be healthy for them, or to evolve as a person.
“Time can heal things,” Patton agreed. “I think it will be a while but it should pass with time.” He knew that it would have to. “Just don’t suggest I sit down and talk to her.”
"I was not suggesting a sit down, you two did not date. But hopefully the bad blood between you both, will pass." Zoey pointed out to him.
“Like you said it should,” Patton nodded. “I couldn’t be happier than I am with you, I hope she can find something even a little like what we have.”
"I believe she has, she and that captain walsh guy are getting very close." Zoey pointed out to Patton. She hoped he took it well.
“Good for them,” Patton said sincerely. “He seems like an upstanding person.” He honestly hadn’t been paying attention, not thinking all that much about Jasmine at all.
"Not sure, I have not met Captain Walsh." Zoey said, with a neutral look on her face. She knew who he was, but really did not know him.
“I’ve seen him on the bridge,” Patton replied. “He seems to be a good officer but I haven’t spoken to him otherwise.”
"He is a Captain, so I am pretty sure, he is a good officer." Zoey said, with a big grin on her face. She did not know him too. But his rank, demands some level of respect to be shown.
“Maybe fate brought them together,” Patton replied. “I am definitely happy that fate brought you into this ship.”
"I would like to think that Fate brought us together as well." Zoey said, with a big grin on her face, as she looked to Patton.
“You were definitely meant for me,” Patton murmured. “I know I am exactly where I should be and happiest when we are together.”
"There's that soft romantic man that I fell in love with." Zoey said with googly eyes, that were filled with love.
Patton smiled at her with passion in her eyes. “You bring out that in me, I love putting that look in your eyes.”
"No no no, you've always had that in you." Zoey say with the big smile on her face, he just needed to see it was in there.
“Oh,” Patton smiled easily. “I have but you are the only woman I have ever wanted to see it.”
"Good, lets keep it that way." Zoey said, she wanted his eyes and attention focused on her.
Patton smiled as he looked at her, thinking that was easy to keep, she was it for him.
"Well say something, you seem like a lost puppy dog, trying to find his way home." Zoey said, with a big cheesy grin on her face.
“I was thinking that I can’t wait to spend time with you later,” Patton confessed with a smile.
"I like that idea." Zoey said, with a big grin. She wanted him to go on. Hopefully tell her, what his plans were.
“Dinner in my quarters,” Patton continued. “Maybe we could watch a movie and go from there.”
"Okay, I will replicate some popcorn." Zoey said, thinking that a good bowl of kettle korn, would be nice for the movie.
“That sounds good,” Patton was hungry already. He couldn’t remember the last time he had had popcorn. He smiled at her. “I’m looking forward to it.”
"Me too." Zoey said, as the scene starts to fade away.
Patton picked up the report and smiled at her as he headed on his way back to the bridge to deliver it. He was so happy he had found Zoey.
