Admiral's Log, Admiral Willian Targaryen Recording:
I have never been as apprehensive about a mission as I am this one. President Gruzy had agreed that it is in the best interest of all parties if Starfleet One proceeds to Ni'Var to stop my colleague, my friend, Admiral Coulson from plunging the entire Federation into war against the Romulans. I am not fearful about the capabilities of this crew, I am more concerned that the President opted to temporarily remove me from command for this mission and install my wife as temporary commander. He questions my objectivity, perhaps he should, but my wife may be just as compromised during this mission. I can only hope that we are able to stop him before it really hits the fan.
Admiral Willian Targaryen stepped through the door and onto the Bridge of his starship, momentarily taken aback by the sight of his wife sitting in his chair in the center of the room. It wasn't the first time that he'd seen her in command of Enterprise, but there was something different about this time. Something that he could feel deep inside of him that questioned what this could all mean for them and the future. Instead of a friendly greeting he sighed.
"Problem?" Luzol asked as she glanced up at him from the workstation built into the armrest.
"No," he lied. "Just thinking about the enormity of what we're undertaking."
The temporary captain paused before answering, considering how far she wanted to take things on the Bridge. She knew her husband better than anyone else aboard the ship and she knew when he wasn't being truthful. "That it is," she finally answered as she glanced at the console. "Can you see to the loading of the Galileo?"
Willian wanted to roll his eyes, but stopped himself at the last minute. During its last mission the Enterprise's mission support vessel, the Spock, had been severely damaged. Repairs were still ongoing and there was no way to get it in place before they launched for this mission. Starfleet authorized the recently constructed Somerville Class Starship Galileo to be attached to them for this mission. Still it wasn't his Galileo. He could still see it at the Battle of Vlulyr Tuok being commandeered and taken away by Agent 47.
"It's already in progress," he said sitting down in the XO's chair. On the viewscreen the image of Earth's orbit dominated the screen, "How long until we depart?"
"Half an hour," she said still typing. "Have you heard from your parents?"
He nodded, "A few minutes ago. They and the kids have settled in."
"Do you really think it's safe for them to go with us on this mission? We aren't exactly heading to friendly space and we just offloaded half of the nonessential personnel," she stopped typing on the console. "Your parents could keep them at their home at Spacedock with no problem."
"It'll be fine," he answered irritated. "Maybe I will go see how they're settling in."
Luzol sat back in the chair and looked at him in silence. She wanted to say a lot more, but knew that it would just be a bigger fight. She relented, "Do what you want."
That was his wife's code for she'd had enough. He'd heard it more than enough. Standing he looked around the Bridge and wondered if maybe he should go to his parent's house with the boys and let her go off on her own. It was a momentary thought though. Something told him he needed to be here. He just hoped that it wasn't to see the end. As he passed through the doors and back into the corridor he had a rather surprising thought. Smiling he reached for his communicator, "Computer, locate Sadun."
