Mission:
Short Treks
Location: Lounge
T'Rylea went to the lounge looking for Lily as she wanted to get to know Lily better and ask about some nebula they were near. If they were going to affect the flying of the ship and fighters she needed to know as soon as possible. Stopping at the bar, she asked the bar keep if he has seen Lily, he shook his head negatively. Getting a drink, she sat down to see if she would show up.
Lily walked into the lounge with a rolling tray. She walked over to one of the other Bartenders who was overjoyed at seeing the cart. They talked for a few moments before she turned and walked to the main windows in the lounge.
Noticing Lily, "Hey Lily, over here" T'Lisha said quickly, mentioning with her hand.
Lily arced one of her fine white eyebrows at the other woman. She walked over to her table. "Can I help you T"Lisha?" Her tone was a bit on the cold side.
"Hi, thought we could chat and get to know each other better. I'm always looking for some good conversation with my crew mates. Pull up a chair and can I get you anything to drink or eat?" T'Lisha asked smiling.
"I don't normally come to the lounge, unless I'm dropping something off." Lily stated. "Not a huge of replicated foods either."
"Well if you prefer, we could go for a walk in the park on the holodeck" T'Lisha said.
"We could, if you like." Lily said not really comfortable with the situation. "So what would you like to know?"
"Maybe we could be friends Lily. I don't have many friends here on the ship, and I thought we might become just that," T'Lisha said.
Lily sighed. "This is something I'm not use to." She stated. "I never had any friends myself, until I came here. Now several people want to be my friend and a possible boyfriend." She said as she started to blush slightly.
"Hey, that's cool, a boyfriend! It is a start. I don't have a boyfriend yet but I am hopeful," she said laughing. T'Lisha was happy for Lily. "I didn't have many friends in the Academy but since graduating I have made a few friends, and lost a good deal of them too, she said sadly.
"I never had friends growing up." Lily admitted. "There is many eligible men aboard the ship. I do know that Captain Bishop won't be interested in you."
"Oh, your that positive?" T'Lisha said chuckling and smiling at the same time. "It is true that there are many fine men are on board, and several are single. Oh so many to choose from but, you know the old saying, 'Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!' And that is so true, " she added smiling. "Anyhow who is the lucky guy? Or you just going to keep it to yourself?"
"You can't discount the single women, who might be interested." Lily said with a cocked eyebrow. "That maybe true. As for the lucky guy." She tapped her figures against her lips. "I'll keep his identity to myself, but I did drop a hint to his identity."
"Oh do tell, I'm all ears!!" T'Lisha said giggling. " Wait......you did? I must have missed it" she added still giggling.
Lily cocked her eyebrow at the woman. "I did give a hint." She stated. "Why are you giggling like a Japanese Schoolgirl with her first crush?"
"Wait....Bishop? Oh your joking. You mean to tell me that we are both wanting the same guy? Oh that is rich!!" T'Lisha said laughing. "Well Lily, time will tell," she added.
"Take the information as you will." Snow said getting a bit chilly in her tone. "Besides time will tell."
"Yes it will Lily. Well I hope we can be friends regardless", said T''Rylea.
Lily sighed heavily. "I have never had friends, and now you are the third person who wishes to be my friend, sense I've come aboard." She stated. "Bloody hell, there is one among the crew that despises me."
"What do you mean Lily? Who despises you?" T'Lisha asked.
"No one of real importance." Lily stated flatly. "He isn't happy about my past departmental relations."
"Oh that's a bunch of bull!" T'Lisha said chuckling. "Who cares about past departmental relations! What's in the past stays there. You don't bring up the past in the present. Thats just looking for trouble," she added.
"This is why I don't like discussing my past." Lily stated flatly. "People will believe what they want, and no matter of trying to explain will change that belief." She said looking back out the windows.
"Yeah, I know differently. I've had my interdepartmental romances and by talking to a good confidant friend, it helps me to understand what went wrong. Also by listening to that confidant, it builds up a trust that becomes a tight bond between friends," T'Lisha said to Lily. "Hey I got an idea....wanna take a trip in the holodeck? Maybe a fantasy of yours?" she queried.
Lil rested her elbows on the table, and then her chin on her folded hands before her. "T'Lisha, I think you fail to understand what I meant. First off, I've never be in a romantic interdepartmental relationship." She stated. "Well, until now." She added. "Secondly, that was not the type of interdepartmental issues I was speaking of." She stated. "As for the holodeck, I don't normally visit the holodeck. Sense I have my instruments, my cooking, and my reading."
"No I understand all to well Lily. Each of us have different ways of dealing with certain instances. Yet however the outcome is the same, we dive into the things we love doing. Yours is cooking or reading you play your instruments. For me it is my flying. I also love to read. What types of books do you enjoy reading?" T'Lisha asked.
"Well anything mostly, but I prefer scientific manuals." Lily stated. "This is something to really burn time or attempt to put me to sleep." She admitted.
"Well scientific manuals for you are like flying manuals for me. I love reading it just before bed. I fall asleep dreaming of what I read," T'Lisha said smiling.
"I have Hyperthymia, so sleep doesn't come easily." Lily stated.
"Ouch! That is almost like having the human equivalent of insominia! That sucks," T'Lisha said wondering how she deals with it. "How do you deal with it?" she asked.
"Well insominia is just a manor version of hyperthymia." Lily said. "How I deal with it is I read, practice my musical instruments and cook. If I'm not doing any of that I go over the days reports and review requests from my staff for experiments. But the largest thing is I've been doing to spend time with my boyfriend."
"Oooooo......nice. Wish I could say the same. Maybe someday I will get lucky," T'Lisha said smiling.
"There are a fair many single men and women on board." Lily said. "I'm sure you can find a boy or girlfriend among them. Or even a single sexual encounter, if you are into such thing."
"I hope so for my sake. Might make my life a bit more exciting," T'Lisha said, getting up. "Maybe we could go for a walk in the arboretum and talk some more," she said.
"If you wish." Snow said standing up. "The arboretum is a great place to relax."
"Yes it is and a date it is. I will let you know soon," T'Lisha said as she headed back to her shift.
Snow just shook her head. She was wondering if she was just asked out. She shrugged and head off to her quarters.
