Fleet Admiral Luzol pounded at the controls of the dark computer panel in her Quarters aboard the Starship Spock as another exercise in futility. She sat down on the stool below it and sighed.
"Hitting it isn't going to make it come back on any sooner," Beatrix said from the bed hiding her own fear for the situation. "You have a good crew aboard this ship. They'll get things straightened out."
"Not fast enough," she protested.
Beatrix walked over next to her and whispered in her ear, "You're scaring your children so just stop it."
"How dare you?" She charged.
"I spend more time with them than you do," Beatrix reminded. "When you and my son are out hopping galaxies I'm the one sitting with them making sure that they're fine and not afraid. They take their cues from you."
Luzol rolled her eyes, "I'm going to go see if I can help in Engineering."
"Running off again I see," Beatrix criticized. "Parenting is always a secondary." She sat down and handed the datapad she carried to her Grandson, "I just hope that you don't come to regret that one day."
Forcing the door open, Luzol stepped into the corridor to get away from the situation before it spiraled even further out of control to see the Klingon Ambassador standing before her.
"What in the name of Kahless.....where are you running to or away from in such a rush?", Mok'leth said, holding on to her shoulders to steady her.
The Fleet Admiral tugged on her uniform, pulling out the creases that had come from the forced opening of the door. "I'm not running from anything, Ambassador. I want to get to the Bridge to find out what's going on and why we've lost power. We need to find out who attacked us and we need to get this ship back online as soon as possible."
Looks at the Fleet Admiral, "Ma'am you need to slow down for just a moment. The captain is handling it and it would be in the interest of being more discrete in your family matters. I could hear your argument", Mok'leth said quietly said. "Is there something I can help you with perhaps?"
"We have to get to the Bridge and find out what is going on," the Admiral repeated. "With you and the President aboard Security is our top priority."
"Ma'am, the truth is, the bridge is quite busy and we would just be in the way. Please reconsider. Security is tight as a targs mouth" Mok'leth said trying his best to keep the Fleet Admiral off the bridge.
Luzol sighed amidst the darkness that surrounded them. Going to the Bridge was important, almost as important as getting away from her mother in law, but she would be in the way. "Alright, but we do need to get a status report and almost every system is down including communications." She paused a moment, "Thank you, Ambassador. Stay safe."
"I will at that", Mok'leth said watching her go back inside. Mok'leth headed for the bridge to tell the captain what the Fleet Admiral was so flustered about.
