Meeting for lunch

Timeline: 2430-01-05, 12:00

Patton had made the decision that Zoey was right. Here he was chasing after Jasmine like a fool and it was clear to him that she wasn't all that into him. That and after the meeting where he had been assigned first officer on The Spock, she had seemed less than friendly.

Zoey was beautiful and he had liked her from the moment he saw her. Truth being he had even admitted to himself that he wished he had met her first. Sometimes his head got so focused on something he couldn't see straight. He had sent her a message and asked to meet for lunch. He just hoped she hadn't decided he wasn't worth the trouble.

"Blondie dumped you finally?" Zoey said with a grin on her face
As she sat alone on the table. She knew if she waited, he would come running.

“Truthfully,” Patton said as he sat down. “I was thinking about what you said to me and decided you were right.” He paused. “Why spend my time on someone who can’t “decide” if they even like me. Besides, I have been thinking a lot about you.”

"What have you been thinking about exactly?" Zoey asked with a big grin. She was curious why now, she thought deep down was she the rebound girl?

“I like how confident and honest you are,” Patton replied. “No games you come across straight forward. “ He smiled then. “You make me smile and have stirred feelings in me I have never felt before. Between us, I have been wondering if I really liked Jasmine or I just was tired of being alone. I didn’t feel this way with her.

"Slow down turbo, you had your chance at a fast track." Zoey said, as she motioned for him to join her at the table. "I'm no rebound girl." Zoey pointed out to him. She was not going to be his rebound. "Now with that said, if you are serious, we can try to make this work. You can start by planning a date night for us, and picking me up from my quarters tonight, unless you are busy." Zoey suggested to him.

“I am free,” Patton replied. “I will take you out to dinner but I am at the disadvantage of not knowing what you like to do. Dancing? A movie?”

"Pick me up tonight at 7pm. I expect to be wowed." Zoey told him with a stern look on her face.

“Wow you,” Patton repeated her words. She was going to be disappointed. He wasn’t some flashy guy who knew all kinds of things to do. This was going to end horribly. Was this a game to her? Maybe she and Jasmine were setting him up. He looked at Zoey. “Well okay then.”

"Don't be late." Zoey said, she loved playing hard to get. But deep down, the minute he walked over, he had her in his clutches. But she would make him wait to know that.

“I am never late for anything,” Patton replied. “That is of utmost importance to me.” Which said without words this date was to him. “I will see you then.”

"I look forward to it." Zoey said, with a grin on her face. As the scene fades away with the two of them talking.
