Fiscal Year 2379

Post-Dominion Reconciliation Era

• The Shinzon Coup: Following the assassination of the Romulan Imperial Senate via Thalaron radiation, the Reman rebel Shinzon seizes control of the Empire, declaring himself Praetor.
• Battle of the Bassen Rift: The USS Enterprise-E, under Captain Jean-Luc Picard, engages Shinzon’s dreadnought, the Scimitar. The threat is neutralized with the assistance of a Romulan dissident fleet led by Commander Donatra.
• Loss of Lt. Cmdr. Data: During the destruction of the Scimitar, Lt. Commander Data sacrifices his life to ensure the survival of Captain Picard and the Enterprise crew.
• Romulan Political Schism: Following the power vacuum, Tal'aura appoints herself Praetor with the support of Fleet Commander Tomalak. This is contested by Commander Donatra, leading to the eventual formation of the Imperial Romulan State.
• Judicial Remand: The Female Changeling is convicted of war crimes against the Alpha Quadrant. She is committed to the Federation maximum-security facility at Ananke Alpha for permanent incarceration.

Fiscal Year 2380

Reconstruction & Emerging Threats

• The Andak Project: The Federation Council initiates funding for massive terraforming efforts on Cardassia Prime. While the project aims to restore the planet's agricultural capacity, it faces violent opposition from Cardassian splinter cells like the True Way.
• The Empty Crown Insurrection: A Romulan militant faction known as the Empty Crown attempts a violent coup against the provisional government. The uprising is suppressed by the USS Enterprise-E and specialized Starfleet Hazard Teams.
• Command Reorganization: Fleet Admiral Victor Bordson is officially appointed Commander-in-Chief of Federation Starfleet, focusing on the defense of the Neutral Zone.
• Pakled Aggression: The Pakleds launch unprovoked attacks on Starfleet vessels, resulting in the destruction of the USS Solvang and a major engagement with the USS Cerritos in the Kalla System. This marks the beginning of open conflict with Pakled scavenging fleets.
• Exploration Initiative: Starfleet increases the deployment of California-class starships to facilitate "Second Contact" procedures and infrastructure stabilization in the outer rim.
