Captain's Table

Enterprise Captain's TableLocated on the forward edge of Deck 2, the Captain's Table is the Captain's Private Dining Room aboard the Starship Enterprise and has been designed for personal use by the Captain in order to entertain guests and eat meals in private. Meal service was commonly provided by a steward who would bring meals and drinks to the Captain's Table during formal events, or via a replicator when the dining experience was intended to be less formal.

Similar in design to the Executive Conference Room, the Captain's Table was a crescent shaped room that supported a large table with built in illumination that could be set to a variety of colors while in use. Seating eight persons, the large, forward-facing windows provided diners a spectacular view of the space ahead of the starship. Adjacent to the entry to the room, a large transparent aluminum cabinet holds mementos from the Enterprise's prior missions and other items related to the history of the vessel and its crew.

Chapel

Enterprise ChapelThe Chapel aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise was a room dedicated to worship and prayer. Headed by the Chaplain, a specialized member of the vessel's Medical Counseling Staff, the Chapel allows personnel of differing religious beliefs an opportunity to receive religious services in peace. Often, persons of different faiths come together in the Chapel for multifaith worship services.

The Chapel is a small, clean and largely unadorned area aboard the ship that can be adapted and serve for any religious or spiritual practice. The Chapel includes a candelabra, decorative plants, a lectern, and visual sensors that are able to transmit to any of the viewing screens aboard the ship. The bulkhead behind the lectern incorporates symbology from multiple faiths, including the Cross of Christianity, the Star of David, and the Vulcan IDIC.

In addition to traditional and multifaith worship services, the Chapel on the Constitution IV Class would often be used to perform wedding ceremonies. Weddings aboard the Enterprise could be conducted by the Captain or the Chaplain depending upon the interests of the couple.

Crow's Nest

Enterprise Crow's NestNamed in honor of the structure on the upper part of the main mast of ancient oceangoing ships that served as a lookout point, the Crow's Nest was a social gathering place on the forward edge of Deck 3.

The Crow's Nest features large windows that overlook space ahead of the starship. Upon entry, visitors can choose to use one of several tables to socialize with others aboard the ship and are able to obtain meals or other refreshments from replicators built into the upper-level port and starboard bulkheads. The lower level is separated from the upper by built in couches that feature wall-mounted coffee tables mounted below the windows.

The Crow's Nest is one of several Observation Lounges aboard the Enterprise that share a similar configuration. Depending on need, the Lounge can be reconfigured for other events including musical, religious, or theatrical performance.

Fantail Lounge

Enterprise Fantail LoungeLocated at the base of the Enterprise's Engineering Section, the Fantail Lounge is a rear-facing restaurant and bar used by the Enterprise's crew. A designated emergency environmental support shelter, the Fantail could also be used for many official shipboard functions as necessary. Frequently used by members of the ship's crew and guests, children were not allowed in the Fantail unless accompanied by an adult.

The social center of the Enterprise's Stardrive Section, the Fantail Lounge incorporates large, panoramic windows that offer a dramatic view of the space behind the starship. Accessible by twin doors on the port and starboard sides of the room, the Lounge features an assortment of recreational games alongside tables and chairs for socialization. A collection of alcoholic and syntheholic beverages were available for customers within the bar area while a painting depicting the Enterprise Legacy decorated the bulkhead within the bar. Twin replicators capable of producing food and drinks for the crew were available to provide refreshments as needed.

Forecastle Tavern

Enterprise Beakhead TavernThe Forecastle Tavern is the primary social center for the Starship Enterprise and is the largest compartment aboard the starship not to serve a mission related assignment. Wedge shaped and comprising two levels, the Forecastle is located in the forward section of Decks 11 and 12 in the Enterprise's Primary Hull. Named in honor of the upper deck of a sailing ship forward of the foremast, or, historically, the forward part of a ship with the sailors' living quarters. The Forecastle is the most commonly used location aboard the Enterprise and nearly always has guests.

Incorporating nearly 100 tables of varying sizes and configurations, the Forecastle includes a dedicated wait staff who support the customers. Featuring six entryways (two on Deck 11 and four on Deck 12), the Forecastle is equipped with a number of recreational activities, tables and seating, and a bar stocked with alcoholic and syntheholic beverages. A large relief of the Enterprise, made of gold, is located behind the bar and a display screen dominates the bulkhead above. Large windows comprise the forward bulkhead on both levels, offering customers a spectacular view of space ahead of the vessel.

An emergency environmental support shelter, the Forecastle could be used for many official shipboard functions and can support diplomatic ceremonies should the need arise. For large gatherings, the tables in the center of the Deck 12 level could be removed to provide an open stage for presentations, or dance floor for parties. Primarily intended for adult crewmembers or guests, children could access the Forecastle only when escorted by an adult guardian.

Gymnasium

Enterprise GymnasiumThe Gymnasium aboard the USS Enterprise is an athletic and fitness center used for exercise and sporting activity. A recreation center, the Gym incorporates a variety of exercise options for the crew including a basketball court, gymnastics studios, martial arts arenas, and even a parrises squares court. Additional equipment - including exercise bikes, treadmills, and weights - were also available to offer physical training to the crew.

A communal area where the Enterprise's crew and visitors from all ranges of experience can exercise and enhance their musculature, the Gymnasium has personnel assigned to offer assistance with physical training. Popular classes aboard the vessel include aerobic and cardio exercises, Klingon Mok'bara, and Yoga; however, additional training classes are available on a rotating basis.

Holodeck

Enterprise HolodeckLocated throughout the Starship Enterprise, the Holodeck is a holographic environment simulator designed and used by Starfleet for both professional and recreation purposes. Due to its size a Holodeck is often used by a group of personnel, but can be operated by as few as one member of the crew.

Achieved through the usage of the Hologrid, a collection of omnidirectional holographic diodes that create sophisticated projections that extend for an unlimited distance, the Holodecks incorporate their own independent power supply and computer processors. In untenable situations, the Holodeck can be used as emergency shelters to provide a diversion for the crew in their final moments should a situation become unsalvageable.

Offering a variety of holoprograms for the crew to choose from, the Holodeck provides a variety of entertainment options and gives the crew an opportunity to create their own programs if needed. While primarily used for relaxation, the Holodeck is often used for the creation of training simulations to better prepare the crew of the starship for their mission of galactic exploration. To support the crew during their usage of the Holodeck, complex safeguard software has been implemented that prevents the user from being seriously injured while using the Holodeck; however, depending on situation, these safeguards can be overriden.

The Enterprise currently has two Holodecks designated for specific use aboard the vessel. Located on Deck 10, one Holodeck has been assigned to recreate 10 Forward Avenue, a bar located in the Forward Avenue Historic District in the City of Greater Los Angeles on Earth. The second, located in the Stardrive Section, provides access to Vic's, a lounge set in 1961 Las Vegas, Nevada hosted by Vic Fontaine and based on holoprogram Bashir 62.

Holosuite

Enterprise HolosuiteSmaller than its larger cousin the Holodeck, the Holosuite is a holographic environment simulator used by Starfleet primarily for recreation. Typically, Holosuites were intended for individual or small group usage unlike holodecks, which could accommodate dozens of people.

Designed by Ferengi entrepreneur Plegg in the 24th Century, Holosuites were small, modular rooms that had fundamentally the same technology as Holodecks. The Holosuite was equipped with a hologrid containing omnidirectional holographic diodes, enabling holographic projections and holograms, and elements of transporter technology and replicators would create holographic matter through the manipulation of photons contained within force fields. Each Holosuite was powered by secondary reactors and with biofilters which had to be periodically removed and emptied of waste matter. When a user experienced a holographic environment, the walls would generate holographic images that appeared to extend for an unlimited distance, but the walls could be revealed if someone took an unexpected action in the program which hit the wall.

Vessels like the Enterprise incoporate extensive holographic programs within their computer database of varying genres and eras. Controlled from an interior control panel attached to the arch, commands could be entered by keypad or voice. Holosuites, like Holodecks, were equipped with safety protocols to prevent serious injury, though these safeguards could be disengaged. Additional program modes allowed the user to take part in the simulation or observe the events as they transpired.

Library

Enterprise LibraryIncorporation identical rooms in both the Primary and Secondary Hulls, the Library aboard the Enterprise are used for research purposes, supporting scholarly or scientific research aboard the vessel. Providing access to both physical and digital materials, including a collection of printed reference materials that may be utilized inside the premises, the Library offers a variety of options to researchers to obtain needed information.

Due to the ease of access to information within the galaxy, many may not know how to fully utilize library resources which may have an impact on use. To combat this, each Library is staffed by a Librarian, a specially trained research professional, to assist with research needs. To facilitate learning, each Library provides quiet space for private studying, common areas to facilitate group study and collaboration, and dedicated workstations allowing access to electronic resources through the Library Computer and the Starfleet Galactic Memory Bank at Memory Alpha.

Mess Hall

Enterprise Mess HallLocated throughout the Enterprise, the Mess Hall was a location where crewmembers could relax and enjoy a meal or a quick snack in a social setting. A relatively large space purposed for crew comfort, each Mess Hall falls under the responsibility of the Morale Officer.

Featuring multiple tables and seats, the Mess Halls aboard the Enterprise share a common design. Boasting several large windows, the most common design of Mess Hall aboard the Enterprise was a buffet-style environment where food prepared in the ship's galley was brought to the mess hall and stored in a serving case located on the bulkhead adjacent to the windows. Other Mess Halls were equipped with four food replicators in place of the buffet, while others were configured to incorporate a kitchen. Each Mess Hall also included a small lounge area with couches and chairs where customers could socialize or play games. Each Mess Hall is fitted with its own decor to give its own unique personality.

Muster Point

Enterprise Muster PointNamed in honor of the Old Earth military process known as mustering, which was the practice of accounting for members in a military unit, Muster Points are meeting locations for crew and passengers of the Enterprise. Located on almost every deck aboard the Enterprise, Muster Points are similar to town squares and located in the center of each residential quadrant aboard the ship. Serving as emergency environmental support shelters and maintaining supplies that could be used in an emergency, Muster Points are critical locations for the survival of the Enterprise's crew.

While multiple configurations exist for Muster Points aboard the Enterprise, the default configuration is similar of all locations. Most commonly a Muster Point incorporates tables for socialization with a nearby Replicator capable of providing refreshments to the crew. Spiral staircases, protected by forcefield railings, allow personnel to travel from one deck to another without the need for a turbolift. While many Muster Points are located away from the exterior hull, those close to the outside of the ship include large windows that allow users to stargaze.

Porthos Theatre

Enterprise Porthos TheatreThe ship's theater is used for entertainment aboard starships like the Enterprise, allowing plays, musical performances, and films to be presented to an audience. Aboard the Starship Enterprise, the theatre complex has been named in honor of Porthos, Admiral Jonathan Archer's prized beagle aboard the Enterprise NX-01.

In its default configuration the theatre complex supports rowed seating for up to 50 attendees; however, the room can be reconfigured to a number of styles. One of the most popular offerings by the Porthos Theatre is a casual dining option where guests may dine while they take in a performance. Normally, food service is offered via two replicator terminals built into the bulkhead near the port and starboard entrances to the theatre; however, wait staff may be assigned depending upon the nature of the event. Each table overlooks a large stage with a built in hologrid, offering the option of generating an environment for live action performances by members of the ship's drama club. Stored programs, based upon historic entertainment from Federation member worlds, can be shown for entertainment purposes with Tuesday nights having been designated as "movie night" as they were on the NX-01 during the Earth-Romulan War.

Quantum Café

Enterprise Quantum CaféNamed in honor of the Starfleet Officer's Club at Starfleet Headquarters on Earth, the Quantum Café is a popular restaurant frequented by the crew, family, and guests aboard the Enterprise.

Inspired by classic diners on Old Earth, the Quantum Café is a converted Mess Hall which offers a wide variety of cuisine, a casual atmosphere, waitstaff served tables, and a long sit-down counter with direct service by the chef. Boasting several large windows, food was typically freshly prepared in the attached galley, but the Café also incorporates a buffet-style option where preprepared food could be stored in a bulkhead mounted serving case. Replicators within the Café could further supplement the cooking staff depending upon need.

Quark's Express

Enterprise Quark's ExpressLocated at the base of the Main Deflector Dish in the Stardrive Section, Quark's Express is a restaurant franchise based upon Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade. Owned by Quark of Ferenginar and his partners within the Karemma Commerce Ministry, the Enterprise was authorized to feature a Quark's franchise with the support of Commodore Loatha Targaryen in 2439. Overseen by a holographic replica of Quark himself, Quark's Express is a popular option for the adult members of the Enterprise crew.

Borrowing the design of the K-7 Bar of the 23rd Century, Quark's Express is brightly lit with a large bar area opposite the entry to the room. Multiple shelves filled with alcoholic and syntheholic beverages were available behind the bar while a Quark 2000 Replicator, which was personally programmed by Quark to give his beverages a "special zing" unachievable by standard Federation models, was mounted on the right wall. A variety of tables and chairs are available for patrons to utilize, offering an impressive view of the large forward window that overlooks the path ahead of the Enterprise, with booths around the periphery of the room for privacy.

Replimat

Enterprise ReplimatLocated on Deck 1 adjacent to the Main Bridge, the Replimat is a self-serve eatery commonly used by the Enterprise's Bridge Crew.

Similar in design to the Infirmary and Transporter Rooms on the same deck, the Replimat is compact and functional in design. Three Replicator terminals were available at the head of the room with a counter allowing for the placement of trays, mugs, and eating utensils. Metallic tables arranged in a semicircle at the opposite side of the room comfortably sat four people, offering a place for crew of socialize close to the Bridge. Windows, protected by blast shields, were available to allow the crew an option to observe nearby space while eating.

When needed, the Replimat could double as a makeshift meeting area to conduct mission briefings when the Executive Conference Room was unavailable or impractical. Display terminals were located near both entrances to the Replimat, allowing for priority uplinks to database entries or tactical cartography as needed.

Wheelhouse

Enterprise WheelhouseLocated at the front of Deck 1, the Wheelhouse was a specialty crew lounge often utilized for diplomatic functions aboard the Enterprise. Named in honor of the Wheelhouse, a small enclosure on a vessel that housed the steering wheel and was used by the Captain to navigate the ship, the Wheelhouse aboard the Enterprise is based upon the Observation Lounge aboard the Constitution II Class USS Enterprise-A.

Unlike other locations aboard the Enterprise, the Wheelhouse has been fitted with synthetic wood planking to give the feel of a classic sailing vessel from Earth's past. A stylized compass was etched into the flooring in the center of the room, while a collection of chairs and tables were placed allowing for socialization. Multiple paintings - including an oil painting of the U.S.S. Enterprise sailing vessel - adorned the walls of the room, offering a reminder of the legacy of the Enterprise name.

The most impressive point of the Wheelhouse were three large viewport windows that gave a dramatic view of the path ahead of the Enterprise. Below the windows, a recovered ship's wheel, steering compass, and telemotor from an Earth sailing vessel have been installed to further connect with the nautical history of the Enterprise.
