Gamma Quadrant
The Gamma Quadrant is the northwest quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy and encompasses a quarter of the entire volume of the galaxy. After a series of unmanned probes were deployed to the Quadrant, the United Federation of Planets first visited the region in 2369 following the discovery of the Bajoran Wormhole. The Gamma Quadrant is home to the Dominion, who serve as the dominant power of the explored area.

Locations Visited by the U.S.S. Enterprise
Chelu II | |
Native Species: Cheluan, Q | Sector: Stakoron |
Located in the Stakoron Sector, Chelu II is a Class M world orbiting a single star. A utopian world, Chelu II hosts a population that are immersed in high culture, education and ecological principles that are focused on protecting the planet’s natural beauty. Exposed to the dangers of the galaxy throughout its history, Chelu II was a flashpoint of the Q Civil War in its ancient history (despite Starfleet only becoming aware of the events in 2373). During the conflict the planet’s population of 8 billion people was utterly destroyed and most of the surface devastated. While much of the planet has been resettled, much of the planet still lies in ruin and led a single Q to choose to remain the planet's guardian. In 2439 the crew of the Starship Enterprise responded to a distress call emanating from Chelu II and encountered their guardian, who subjected the crew to testing to see whether they would be fit protectors for the Cheluans. While the Enterprise crew was deemed appropriate, the Enterprise refused the offer and Q remained guardian of the world. |

Drai V | |
Native Species: Drai, Jem'Hadar, Tosk | Sector: Ennis |
Home to the Drai species, Drai V was a Class H world orbiting a binary star system. Featuring a hot and humid climate, Drai V is a barren, rocky world that is dominated by volcanic activity and little drinkable water. Multiple pockets of lethal radiation dot the surface of Drai from previous hunts between the native Drai and their Tosk prey. Drai V is one of the most important worlds in the Dominion as the Drai oversee cloning operations for the Dominion. Multiple large cloning centers have been established on the surface to produce Jem'Hadar and a large shipyard facility constructs Dominion attack vessels. In 2439 the Starship Enterprise was ordered to travel to the planet Drai to return a renegade Tosk apprehended in the Alpha Quadrant to his people. After a brief standoff, the Tosk was able to escape and crashed a Warp capable shuttle into the surface of Drai V. Despite offering to help, the Enterprise was ordered away by the Dominion. |

Gaia IV | |
Native Species: Uninhabited | Sector: Gaia |
An uninhabited M Class planet, Gaia IV is an Earth-like world that is part of a binary star system. The planetary system was quarantined by the United Federation of Planets in 2373 due to an energetic quantum barrier that surrounded the planet that was known to cause temporal displacement for vessels attempting to pass through and was near impossible to successfully navigate. Aside from the battier, the planet's surface was relatively common of Class M worlds and featured several major land masses with a variety of climatic and surface conditions. Surveyed by the crew of the Starship Defiant in 2373, in an alternate timeline Gaia IV was colonized by the crew of the Defiant following a temporal displacement that caused the ship to crash on the surface. By the 24th century, Gaia IV's colony has grown to nearly 8,000 people living in scattered settlements. Through the actions of Constable Odo, this timeline was prevented when the Defiant's flight plan was modified to avoid the accident. |

Indurane | |
Native Species: Indurane | Sector: Callinon |
Previously identified as Sisko-Dax 1171, Indurane was visited by the Starship Enterprise following Deep Space 47's contact with a Dominion fleet in 2439. Located in a quadinary star system, Indurane features an orbital period of twelve thousand years and was classified as a Brown Dwarf Star during initial survey. Upon investigation an away team from the Enterprise located a downed Dominion Scout Vessel located on a crystalline structure suspended in the atmosphere of Sisko-Dax 1171. Accessing the scout, the away team learned that the Dominion ship had been on a pilgrimage to find the progenitor species of the Changelings to help answer the mysteries of the Dominion. While assisting with rescue efforts the away team discovered that Sisko-Dax 1171 was one huge life-form that had a similar chemical makeup as the Changelings themselves. Hostile to all life, the planet was quarantined by the Enterprise before departing back for Federation territory, but not before the Founder Odo named it Indurane, the Bajoran word for ancient. |

Life-Forms Encountered by the U.S.S. Enterprise
Cheluan | |
While technologically sophisticated, the Cheluans are a race that are more focused on high culture, education and conservation principles designed to protect their planet. Profoundly impacted by the horrors of the Q Civil War, the people of Chelu II have adopted pacifistic principles and have banned the usage of any weapon on their planet and within their space. The Cheluans have become dependent upon their Q protector to allow their pursuit of peace in the face of threat. While the Cheluans share many of the same physical capabilities and tolerances of a Human, their respiratory system is far more complex and feature more bronchial lobes than traditional humanoids. This evolutionary advantage allows the Cheluans to process different atmospheres that they may encounter, and a limited ability to tolerate exposure to vacuum. Typically, a Cheulan skin has a pale yellowish hue with a bluish tint to their lips and extremities with a small brow ridge and a lack of body hair. Cheluan society is matriarchal, with women outnumbering men and commonly being taller. |

Drai | |
The Drai are a technologically advanced humanoid species from the Gamma Quadrant that have centered their culture around the highly ritualized hunting of the Tosk species. Organized into a rigid clan structure, the goal of every Drai family is to become a Hunter with complex testing used to weed out the very best candidates starting in infancy. A proud, vain, and focused society, the Drai were first encountered by the Federation in 2369 and are characterized by pale-yellow skin, a cleft upper-palate, and corrugated foreheads. Focused upon the hunt, Drai technology is designed with a tactical mindset. Drai military uniforms can shield the hunter from many weapons and incorporate sophisticated sensor technology to aid in the hunt. The Drai are awarded significant freedom in the Dominion due to their advanced cloning capabilities, producing not only the Tosk but also the Jem'Hadar for the Dominion. Faithful servants of the Dominion, the Drai are comfortable focusing on their own aims and rarely engage in politics with the Dominion and its members. |

Indurane | |
Encountered by the Starship Enterprise during a rescue mission for the crew of a beached Dominion Scout Vessel, the Indurane was a mammoth life-form encountered in the atmosphere of the planet Indurane in 2439. Approximately the size of the Enterprise herself, the Indurane lived in the upper atmosphere of the planet and were known to remain close to large crystalline structures that floated within the atmosphere. Long-term observation of the creatures was not possible as they were deemed hostile to the safety of the crews of both vessels. NOTE: Starfleet Exobiology, Starfleet Medical, and Starfleet Planetary Sciences have reviewed Enterprise's Sensor Logs from the encounter with the Indurane. As the planet Indurane has been designated as a living creature, experts have theorized that the Indurane life-form may be the offspring of the planet or may serve the same function as immune cells. Further data is needed to make a conclusion. |

Q | |
The Q are a species of near omnipotent, non-corporeal life-forms that are natives of the Q Continuum. While the circumstances of how the Q came into existence are unclear, despite their claims to the contrary, Q are not immortal and could even die, but typically after having lived a long lifespan. As demonstrated during encounters with the Q, their capabilities can reach cosmic levels of power. With a mere thought, and a snap of their fingers or a wave of their hand, the Q have displayed unlimited control over space, time, and matter. Despite this, if a Q neglected to use their powers for a long time, their abilities could become limited or lead to undesirable outcomes. The Q themselves live in a highly ordered society, though some argue it was also a virtually stagnant one, which led to a Civil War within the Q Continuum that existed with flashpoints at several key moments throughout history that devastated subspace and many worlds. A tentative peace was established with the birth of the first Q child; however, the damage had already been done and the Q themselves started to die for the first time in their history. |

Tosk | |
An evolved form of the Tosk species, Tosk was genetically engineered to serve as the perfect prey for the Drai, a race of hunters in the Gamma Quadrant. Tosk has several genetic modifications over previous Tosk encountered by Starfleet including an enhanced shrouding ability, similar to that of a Jem'Hadar, which makes it impervious to traditional sensor scans. Additionally, Tosk's agility, intelligence, and musculature have all been similarly enhanced to enable him to better survive the hunt. Tosk was initially encountered by the Enterprise crew when the alien served as Chief Medical Officer for Odo's expedition to find the Changeling now known as Indurane. Initially believed to have returned with Odo, instead Tosk managed to stowaway aboard the Enterprise where he was later detected. |
