Exodus
Location: USS Spock, Mess Hall
Timeline: 2430-01-09, 20:30
Jasmine had completed her inspection of the rigellian ship. She still not like the idea of abandoning the USS Spock. Or relaying the information, that the President was on board. Jasmine looked over to Ryan, she had a half of a smile on her face. "Hello." She called out, with that half smile. Her eyes were saying how happy she was to see him.
“Hi,” Ryan’s eyes lit up as he saw her. “I was hoping we would run into each other.”
"Well here I am." Jasmine said, thinking it was sweet of him, to say that. She wondered, what he wanted with her? She hoped another date, and not something to do with the President. she was off the clock, for once and wanted to blow off some steam.
“I want to spend some time with you,” Ryan admitted getting straight to the point. “Leave work behind and just relax. What do you think?”
"Wouldn't that be nice, but shouldn't we be worried? A Captain going out in public with a Lieutenant Commander, on a date?" Jasmine asked. She knew perception was everything. Was he willing to risk his career over this, or should they be more discreet?
“I have never cared much what others think,” Ryan informed her. “I like you a lot and I don’t care who knows it.”
"That's very sweet, but it could stunt my career too." Jasmine pointed out to him. The rank should not bother her, but for some reason it did. She was not sure why that was either. She liked him too.
“So what do you want to do?” Ryan asked her. “I don’t want to hinder your chance at advancement. You are a damn good officer and deserve to climb quickly.”
"I dunno, working with the President, and noticing that people like my suggestions, honestly has me thinking maybe a political arena position. But, I dunno. Just contemplating the decisions." Jasmine said, feeling a little torn, on what to do.
"I will support whatever you decide,' Ryan replied. "You know I have feelings for you and I'm not going to lie and say I don't. At the same time, I want you to be happy and not held back by what is between us."
"I appreciate that, just not sure yet, what to do. Plus I am not sure if the President even wants me close to his inner circle." Jasmine pointed out.
"I believe he more than likely already knows we have been seen together," Ryan said quietly. "The President seems to know things almost before they happen. He is very good at keeping up on the crew."
"No you miss understand, I am referring to my career in politics. I need someone in that line of work to encourage me. I really shouldn't need that, but if we are being honest. It would be nice to hear one of them say, hey you should think about politics." Jasmine told him, hoping that did not sound to needy of her.
“I get what you are saying,” Ryan replied. “I am surprised no one has said anything but I am sure it will happen and soon. “ he meant what he said, she would make a really good politician.
"I hope so, and appreciate the compliment." Jasmine said, as she leaned over to kiss his lips. She felt so close to him, it was scary. She believed she was ready to move on from John.
Ryan returned her kiss. His feelings were deepening for her, he thought about her all the time. “Just being honest.”
"Yes I believe you are." Jasmine said with a loving smile on her face. She loved how honest and how kind he was.
"I knew the moment I met you that you weren't one to play games," Ryan murmured. "You prefer respect and honesty in those close to you."
"You forgot to mention, I have a tendency not to allow to many people to get close to me, and to pursue me, but not paddy level chasing." Jasmine wanted to point out for the record.
“I didn’t forget.” Ryan said with a smile. “I can see why you were annoyed by Patton. He seemed to pursue you with a vengeance from what I understand.”
"It was a bit much, but that is now in the past. And I can safely say, you are not him." Jasmine pointed out to him. She really liked him, which scared her, but she was trying to open up to him.
“I hope not,” Ryan murmured. “I have always been sensitive to others and not to overstep.”
"I do appreciate that, Ryan." Jasmine said, as she leaned in for a kiss. She had forgotten about her comment earlier, about public perception. She wanted to feel his delicate lips against hers. She knew this could play out two ways, he could stop her, and find some where more exclude to make out, and potentially lead to something more. Or to play it safe, and take the kiss.
Ryan leaned in and kissed her, not even hesitating. He remembered in the back of his mind they were supposed to be keeping this more private but he couldn’t hold back.
Jasmine returned his kiss, with built up passion in her lips. The kiss was not very long, but it was filled with passion. She hoped that Ryan felt the same force of passion that she did.
Ryan was having a hard time hanging on to his control. He get that spark again as well as a passion that hungered to be fed. His eyes met hers as it ended and he found he had no words to say, he just looked in her eyes hoping she could see what he couldn’t speak.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Jasmine asked him, with a desperate look of passion in her eyes. She wanted to be somewhere alone with him.
“Yes,” Ryan said quietly. He took her hand in his and they headed out. “Where would you like to go?” He asked.
Jasmine took his hand, and they left. The scene starts to fade away.
