Exodus
Location: USS Spock

It had only been a short while since the Starship Spock - temporarily rechristened Starfleet One - had come under brutal attack from an unknown assailant. Now they were adrift somewhere deep in space with no way to get a message out. The Captain had sent out a distress call, but they had no way of knowing who heard it or if help was coming.
The Tellarite Scientist sighed as he navigated the darkened hall, the light from his sims beacon reflecting off of the corridors as he stalked the halls. He was trying to get to Engineering to help with getting the ship's power systems back online. It was strange to see a vibrant ship like this. The Spock was a Shran Class escort vessel that had been specially modified to serve as a diplomatic transport. It had multiple redundancies which made this all the stranger. Whomever hit them knew exactly where to do so to disable the ship and not destroy it. The list of people with such knowledge was extremely limited. Plus, where were the Kirk and Georgiou?
"Get it out of your head," he mumbled to himself as he searched. "It couldn't be that."
He heard a noise from not far away, "Hello?"
“Captain Walsh,” Ryan identified himself. He was working his way to check on the President, having been on the bridge when all hell broke loose.
The Tellarite nodded, politely, to the superior ranked officer. Then, in true Tellarite fashion, proceeded to put his foot in his mouth, "Do you intentionally sneak up and scare everyone you meet, Captain, or is that my honor?"
"I was actually testing you," Ryan replied, relieved that in the darkened hall his slight grin would not be detected. "You should work on that, my ability to sneak up on you. It is a good trait to be aware of your surroundings and detect another presence."
"I'll keep that in mind next time I'm on a dying ship," the Science Officer retorted. "We haven't much time until the residual charge goes out of the gravity systems and we'll be floating. Want to help me try to fix that or are you more interested in scaring me again?"
“I would be glad to help out,” Ryan replies. “You need to work on your sense of humor.” He continued. “I was joking you scared me just as much.”
"If we live through this then aye Sir. If we don't, well then I'll keep being me." The Science Officer grabbed a mag lock and attached it to the door. Tapping at the control he pushed on the door, "Do we have any idea who did this to us or we still flying blind?"
“I am as much in the dark as you are,” Ryan replied. “Once we get some light around here I intend to find out.”
"You and me both," the Tellarite answered as they stepped into environmental control. "I'm Lieutenant jav Ghul," he introduced realizing he had yet to do so. He pulled a panel off the wall revealing the guts of the environmental systems, "I'm Science Officer of this merry little band."
“Captain Ryan Walsh,” he identified himself. “I am a liaison to the President.”
The Science Officer grabbed a tricorder from his waist and engaged a scan cycle on the system. He'd have preferred an engineering unit, but this would have to work for now. Adjusting the indicators he studied, carefully, what he was seeing on the screen. He grabbed a tool from the kit, "At least we're still keeping the gravity in place." He looked around, "Can you get me the battery kit from that storage compartment? If I can connect it I may be able to get life-support back to normal."
"Yes," Ryan said as he moved over and quickly grabbed the battery kit and headed back over. "What can I do?"
The Lieutenant accepted the battery and maneuvered components around inside the equipment bay. Sliding it into the housing, he reconnected the input leads. "Go over to the panel and you will see a series of controls hardwired in that circuitry panel. There's a primer handle - large, flat, and grey - that needs activated. We do that and I can get the system online."
"I am on it," Ryan nodded. He headed over and looked around, finding the primer handle. Once he had it activated it he turned back. "All set, let's get us up."
Pressing the last series of controls the readouts all started to glow. The Science Officer tapped and the indicators came alive. He pecked at a subpanel and smiled as the system gave one of the most welcome messages he could get, "Life-support is stable. We did it."
Ryan grinned. "That is the best news I have heard in a while," He paused and then spoke. "What next?"
"About a million different things. Every system is damaged in one form or another, but let's celebrate this win while we can." The Tellarite grinned, "Thanks for the help. Now let's see what else we can do."
