Lily's quarters were close to Patton's quarters. She happened to be walking to her room, at the same time, Patton was. "How many girls are you chasing after?" Zoey flat out asked him, with a sarcastic grin on her face. Her implication being, that he was a player.

“Do we know each other?” Patron frowned. “And what are you talking about? I am not chasing many women.”

"Not yet, but I decided to jump a head of the line." Zoey said, with a big grin on her face. "Sop tell me, how many girls are you chasing after?" Zoey asked, with a grin on her face.

“One,” Patton replied with a frown. “Well not chasing exactly just interested in. Why?” What was her game he wondered.

"I saw you tonight flirting with Commander Haynes, then having dinner with Lieutenant Snow. You sly dog. Why chase them?" Zoey asked. He was a handsome man, there was no reason, why he should have to chase them down.

Patton frowned. “Lieutenant Snow and I are friends.” Well he hoped they would be one day. “And Commander Haynes and I work together. Who are you and where do you work?”

"I am Zoey Parker, and I work in strategic operations." She said, with a big playful smile on her face. She hoped that Patton noticed her playful demeanor.

“It is nice to meet you,” Patton replied. “When did you come on board?” He wondered why he hadn’t seen her before.

"When you did, surprised you did not notice me. I have noticed you." Zoey said, almost sounding a little creepy. But in reality, she had been checking him out. And thought, he was very sexy.

“I didn’t even know you existed until a few minutes ago,” Patton replied. “Sorry I have a lot going on.”

"I have seen you chasing the security chief around, you know she has a boyfriend right?" Zoey asked, hoping he did not know. So he would get over here and see what was staring right in front of him.

“I know the situation,” Patton returned. “I’m being patient.” He wasn’t telling her Jasmines business.

"You know there are other girls on this ship, right?" Zoey asked him, seeing how dense, and dumb ass he was being. Would he be stupid enough not see that there was a girl in front of him, that would not mind a chance.

“I’d be blind not to know that,” Patton said with a smile. She was persistent if nothing else. “Why me?” He decided to turn the table on her.

"You would have to ask the ladies. Seems like something, you good at. Each lady probably has their own reasons." Zoey suggested with a big grin.

“I’m not going around asking why women find me attractive,” Patton sighed. “That sounds egotistical!”

"Then never find out, it will be your lost. But I can assure you, that Jasmine is off limits. You are trying to drink an empty jar of koolaid!" Zoey pointed out to him, trying to get him to see how foolish he was being.

“How would you know?” Patton asked her suspiciously. “What first hand knowledge do you have?”

"It's no secret, and you are not the first guy hit on her. Yes she pretty, but there are other attractive ladies on the big E or Star Fleet One. Not sure what to call this ship, some times were are the Big E, other times we are Star Fleet One. Depending if the President is on." Zoey pointed out to Patton, hoping he was not to narrow minded. She had a feeling he might be. Why did the cute ones have to be narrow minded stalkers, going after the wrong target. Zoey was available. And she had a feeling, that he was to blind to see it.

“Is your what?” Patton frowned. “Making it a mission to study Jasmine and those who have wanted to date her? Maybe she is everything you say but I am the kind of guy who needs to find out for myself.”

"You should leave the stalking to the females, see its cute if its a lady stalking her man, its creepy if its a man stalking a taken woman. It's all about perception. How do you want to be seen on this ship?" Zoey asked him, knowing that he was going to give some nonsense answer about not caring about perception. Even though, he should care.

“You seem to be the only one creeped out,” Patton returned. “And I’ve never much cared about others opinions.”

"Hey I tried to warn you, but clearly you do not want to get the girl. Your loss, and your down fall Mister O'Sullivan." Zoey said, as she started to walk towards her door. "Good luck, you will desperately need it." She said, as she started to walk in her door.

“Thanks for the warning,” Patton called after her. He didn’t know what she expected. That he would forget his interest in Jasmine. What kind of guy would do that and what kind of girl would want a guy like that?”

"It's fact not a warning." Zoey said, as she shut her door, and shook her head in disbelief. She started to wonder, why was she obsessed with this guy? He clearly could not see the obvious. Even when it was in front of him. With Her and with Jasmine. But it was self destructive path to go down.

Patton walked into his quarters and shut the door. His life was complicated already and now it seemed to be even more so.

The scene ends with Zoey shaking her head in disbelief. How could he be so dense, she wondered.
