| Personal History | Early Years Ronan was born on betazed, the middle child of three. His parents were both teachers and held high expectations for their children to do the same. Ronan was shy and reserved growing up. He knew he wasn't meant to be a teacher but he didn't say much to his parents, only to his friend, Rhys Walsh. Rhys parents were ambassadors to Betazed and the boys had become fast friends. Rhys was a big influence on his friend telling him he didn't have to live in the bubble his parents insisted on. He showed him pictures of places he had been with his parents and Ronan felt an urge to leave Betazed and see what there was out there. Ronan knew by the time he finished high school he wanted to be a operations officer. Against his parents wishes, he signed up. His mother informed him he needed to stay home and settle down, he had been promised in marriage to a 'Solwick' and it was a high honor. Ronan packed his things and left feeling like if they were meant to be, fate would bring them together. Academy Days Attending the academy was a whole new world for him. He was grateful to have Rhys there as well. He learned real fast that reading minds was forbidden. It was hard to learn but he soon didn't even have to think a lot about it, it became instinctive. Ronan studied hard, wanting to get the best grades. He watched as Rhys partied and eventually ended up going to a party with him. It was there he met and started dating Saffron Welsh. A part of him felt uncomfortable as he was promised in marriage but that seemed so far away. Ronan and Saffron dated for about six months when he came home early from class and found her in bed with Rhys. Ronan was devastated. His best friends and girlfriend. Rowan severed all contact with Rhys and Saffron. He almost quit the academy and went home but his lab partner for computer science convinced him to stick with it. Ronan and Braden Fisher became good friends. They both graduated in the top of their class and promised to keep in contact. In 2477, Ronan met with Zoya. He didn't really want to but after pressure from his parents he went. Ronan was surprised to see how beautiful she had grown up to be and he enjoyed her company. Ronan knew somewhere inside him that sleeping with Zoys to somehow feel vindicated or get revenge on Rhys and Saffron was wrong but when one thing led to another he did for that reason. It made him feel better that he hadn’t just given up but had slept with someone else. Nine months later, their daughter was born. Ronan took one look at her and nothing else in the world mattered. He couldn't regret that night when Suki had been the result. Upon graduation he was assigned to DS12. |
