| Personal History | Jessica was born in Montana, her parents are ranchers. Their ranch is not far from the site of the Phoenix launch. Her parents are Jake and Emma Barnes. She has no siblings. Jessica was a thrill seeker growing up, and was a champion on the rodeo circuit before turning her eyes towards space, She also had talents in mixed martial arts which lead her to be the perfect candidate to be a security officer. She's known Captain Jamison for years, they were cadets at the academy together. They've dated on and off, most recently when they were serving together on the Ark Royal. In 2379 she was on a away team mission and had to shuttle down to a planet through an ion storm. It was just the two of them on the shuttle sent to explore a distress signal from the planet. Ken was flying the shuttle and instead of aborting the landing attempt he got cocky and attemted a dangerous maneuver to get through the storm. The shuttle crashed. Ken had only minor injuries, but JJ was seriously injured. Her spine was crushed, as was her right arm and face. JJ survived the injuries but lost her right arm, was paralyzed from the waist down and lost her right eye. She was shipped of to Starfleet medical where she spent over two years in an experimental program to rebuild her body. JJ was given cybernetic implants in her spine and legs that gives her the ability to walk again and run quite fast. Her right eye was replaced, by an implant that is an advance on what Geordi Laforge has. She can see regularly, but she can also see multi spectrums of light. She can also receive written orders that can be seen only by her, transmited to her visual cortex on a special frequency. The eye also contains a micro phaser, with the general phaser settings. She's always armed, even when her normal hand phaser is taken away. Her right arm is quite strong, arm wrestling with her would not be a good idea. Being trained to control her new advantages, JJ has worked with Starfleet Special Ops the past several years specializing in prisoner/hostage recovery. JJ has a daughter with Captain Ken Jamison- Haley Barnes Jamison. JJ and Captain Jamison recently reunited and married soon after she joined the Vallhalla. |
