| Personal History | Rebecca didn't realize she wasn't human until she was twelve. Of course, Rebecca wasn't Rebecca until she ran away from Donnybrook. Up until then, she was just Atsilvsgi, one of the many children in the New Human commune of Donnybrook, located in the region of North America historically known as Upstate New York. Since parentage was not acknowledged by the adults of the community (the children being raised collectively by the adults), and Atsikvsai displayed neither the forehead features nor the black eyes of her parents, she had no reason to suspect that she wasn't human. Then when adolescence began, her mixed telepathic heritage kicked in. Neither her biological nor her collective parents were of any real help, so Atsilvsai (soon to rename herself Rebecca) ran away. Rebecca was granted emancipation from the commune, and found a guardian in retired Master Gunnery Sergeant James Puller. Though a nom-telepath, Puller was an integral part in helping Rebecca learn to use the mental abilities of her mixed heritage. Though Rebecca is Starfleet trained, she has had Marine training, and has been embedded with combat troops. She is by no means a "super warrior" of any sort, but her experience has given her a special empathy with combat veterans (though her counseling technique/experience is 'broad spectrum.') |
